New Dell Latitude Notebooks

Dell has upgraded three notebooks in their Latitude series to Intel’s new Santa Rosa platform. The new Dell Latitude D830, D630 and D531 feature improved performance, next-generation 802.11n wireless connectivity, enhanced battery life and a tougher magnesium allow frame.

Other notable features include:
- fully encrypted hard drives for maximum security.
- faster and more durable solid state drives (i.e. based on flash memory).
- Intel Turbo Memory or hybrid drives to reduce boot time in Windows Vista.
- Dell Wireless 5520 HSDPA and Dell Wireless 572o EV-DO mobile broadband.
- brighter displays over previous Dell Latitude models - up to 38%.

All three Dell Latitude notebooks are available at Dell’s online store now:
1) Dell Latitude D830 - 15.4″ widescreen (5.97 lbs) …..from $999
2) Dell Latitude D630 - 14.1″ widescreen (4.50 lbs) …..from $899
3) Dell Latitude D531 - 14,1″ widescreen (5.10 lbs) …..from $649

An ultraportable Dell Latitude D430 and workstation-grade Dell Precision M4300 will be released in the summer, together with a souped-up D630c model based on Intel’s Centrino Pro technology.
